Look hot in cool weather sweaters

There is a chill in the air, so it’s finally time to bundle up in this season’s best sweaters. From Fair Isle to fur-lined, this winter’s sweater selection is yummy. Here our four of our favorite looks.

Boyfriend cardigan

This boyfriend cardigan, $25 at Aeropostale, is the perfect preppy sweater.

Keep in mind: Horizontal stripes won’t make you look wide if you find a color combination that is neutral and not heavily contrasted; for example, bold black and white stripes.

For a deal: Forever 21 has a huge selection of cardigans priced from $14.80 to $32.80.

Faux-fur lined

If you love experimenting with new trends, then you should consider sporting this luxe faux-fur-lined cardi coat, $49.50 at Old Navy.

Keep in mind: Faux-fur details look chic only on coats, vests and sweaters. Avoid fur accessories and boots.

For a deal: This bold trend will soon filter into the outlet stores. Stop by the outlets at Arizona Mills to track down fun fur looks.

Fair Isle

The classic Fair Isle sweater style lends instant holiday charm to your look. Try this Fair Isle trim cardigan, $54.95 at American Eagle.

Keep in Mind: To avoid looking like a Christmas caroler, look for a Fair Isle style that is open in the front. Despite their charm, the pullover Fair Isle knits with their reindeer and snowflake motifs can look a little cliche-ish around holiday time.

For a deal: The men’s section at Target has a great selection of chunky sweaters with the reindeer and snowflake print motifs that you can easily incorporate into your warm-weather wardrobe.

Ruffle

If your style is ultra-feminine, then take a look at this vertical ruffle cardi, $70 at missselfridge.com.

Keep in mind: Find a style with subtle ruffle details. Too much frill can make a casual sweater look like a costume.

For a deal: Stop by Nordstrom Rack to find inexpensive sweaters with cool embellishments and details.
