No tropical vacation in the cards for you this summer? No problem! Take a cue from the tropics and live vicariously through your summer accessories in the form of a tribal-printed handbag to infuse a little island flavor into your wardrobe and spice up the ho-hum of your busy daily routine. Go bright and festive with bold reds and oranges, or let the loud prints speak for themselves in monochromatic color schemes either way, the trend is fun, festive, and will have you feeling hot, hot, hot! From ikat prints to tropical florals, its easy to incorporate a little tribal inspiration, whether youre looking for a festive shopping tote to replace your dull current carryall, or want a chic, compact crossbody bag to keep things close at hand!

Ive lived in New York City for six weeks and have yet to see any famous people on the street, and its making me kind of angry. Well, I guess thats not exactly true; I did see Rudy Giuliani walking down Park Avenue a couple of weekends ago. But I dont want to see politicians, I want to see movie stars! Movie stars doing mundane New York things like hailing a cab, just as Carey Mulligan is doing in these photos.
Ms. Mulligan always looks a bit nervous, but her apparent difficulties in finding a ride are giving her an expression that should be familiar to anyone whos had a schedule to keep in New York but found themselves nowhere near a subway station. And its rush hour, and youre standing on a southbound avenue when you want to go north, and the entire scenario makes you want to fling yourself at the next cab that goes by, whether or not its available. Weve all had those days, Carey. At least you get to have yours with an Alexander Wang Emile Tote.

How were you discovered: I was lucky enough to be photographed by a local photographer whose work was seen on Facebook.com, and the rest is history.
Favorite job: I have so much fun on every shoot, but my favorite was when I was photographed for an editorial and my oldest brother, Willy, came and helped out. They gave him a bottle of hair spray, and he fixed my hair in between shots.
Favorite designer: They’re all my favorite. Working in this industry I’m exposed to so many different styles of clothing, so it’s too hard to choose.
Most embarrassing model moment: I have yet to have an embarrassing moment . . . somewhere in the near future, I’m sure.
Best beauty secret: The less sun the longer you last.
Last song you listened to on your iPod: “Down Under,” by Men at Work.
Style icon: Coco Chanel. She shook the fashion world with her daring style, and eventually it caught on and still exists today. She’s a legend.
Dream modeling job: Becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel and being featured in a Guess jeans campaign.
